Mother’s Day is a joyous time to honor our mothers for all they did for us.
Have you ever thought about how to support your "motherless" friends and relatives on Mother's Day? It’s a sobering question especially if their deaths just happened.
See if any of these easy-to-do-ideas are a good fit:
Be there
Are you able to physically be with a friend or family member who is “motherless” during Mother’s Day? If your presence is welcome, then perhaps you can provide comfort by just listening. That may be all your friend or family member desires. Be sensitive and respectful.
Make a telephone call
Pick up the telephone and reach out to your friend or family member and ask "how are you doing?" Just a telephone call can make a difference. If your friends or family members demonstrate a desire to chat, ask how they are honoring their mother? Do they have special plans? Is there anything you can do?
Send a “Thinking of You” text
A text on Mother’s Day will let your friends and family members know that you are thinking of them. Your text might also include some encouragement or ask if they want to do a Skype-chat or talk on the telephone? Or, find out if they want to plan something you can do together at a later date.
Make and share a digital card
Create a card on Punchbowl.com (my fav) and send it to your family members and friends. Your timely card will be remembered! It’s also a timeless gesture.
